Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to trigger widespread political crisis to derail the Nigerian democratic process and plunge the nation into anarchy.

Factional members of the All Progressives Congress,. APC and their Peoples Democratic Party PDP counterpart in Owerri zone of Imo state have simultaneously and overwhelmingly adopted Chief Mike Nwachukwu of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA as their sole candidate for Imo East senatorial position in the forth coming rescheduled presidential and National Assembly elections.
Nigeria Moment gathered that one of the reasons why the APC faction adopted Nwachukwu was the role played by the Imo governor, Rochas okorocha during the conduct of the party's primaries, alleging that the governor has equally and forcefully moved virtually the candidates of APC to AA. According to the story, even those remaining in the party as candidates are loyal to the AA and Okorocha. Their respects have been channeled to AA and not the APC.  But those of the PDP claimed that the internal crisis ravaging the party will not enable the party win.

He has just been suspended from his party, the All Progressives Congress, a party he was very proud of. In suspending him, it said the governor has become bad news, a betrayer; that he has embarked on, and engaged in, anti-party activities and so, an embarrassment to the party.
