Leadership of the Imo State Police Command under the headship of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Okey Ezike, yesterday Thursday February 8, 2018, at the police command, held a spiritual worship, praises and thanksgiving to the Most High God whom they described as the Almighty in battle.

The programme which was tagged: “2018 New Year Inter-faith/Intercessory prayers and Thanksgiving Service attracted all the Heads of Police (Divisional Police Officers, DPOs) from across the formations in Imo State, the wife of the State Governor, Nkechi Rochas Okorocha, with her entourage and the Secretary to the Imo State Govt. Sir George Eche amongst so many other respected public office holders including some businessmen, friends and well-wishers of the Imo State Police Command.
In his opening remark, the Chief Host, Mr. Ezike, said as the Commissioner of Police in-charge of Imo State, he is poised to ensure the security of lives and property of the people, but all the glory on the Command's achievements in the previous year 2017 must not be recorded without the help and protection of God Almighty.  The CP said “The main aim of the prayer is to render all the activities of the Command into the able hands of God whom he described as the only way to effective security of lives and properties.
Mr. Ezike, at the programme read the Bible lesson from the Book of Habakuk 2:1-11 and therefore encouraged all Police officers in the state to only believe, trust and obey the words of God as the only key to life and success. He however said “If God did not watch a city, the watchman is watching in vain”.
The Commissioner of Police, while addressing members of the Command, called on them to always discharge their duties effectively without eye-service as he equally appealed to Imolites to always support the police with useful information on the activities of the hoodlums.
In her words, the Imo Governor's wife, Nkechi Okorocha, commended the CP for organizing such programme which she described as first of its kind in the history of Imo State Police. Nneoma Okorocha, further extolled the wisdom and understanding of the CP for been very conscious of the things of God, courtesy of the 2018 Inter-faith/Intercessory prayer that he organized for the development, unity and love of the Command. According to her “I do not know that the police can also honour God. So God is as well mindful of the Imo Police Command and Imo people”.  She further described the CP as a man of great vision who does not joke with God even as she prayed God to lift him higher above his present position. The Imo first lady, therefore made a bountifully donation of a 2-bedroom bungalow to two lucky police widows through her pet project, She Needs A Roof Project, SNARP, which she promised to build a house for two police women (widows of the Command) in no distant time.
Some of the Muslim and Christian clerics  who rendered their words of exaltations are: the Chaplain of the Imo Govt. House Owerri, Rev. Dr. Bunmi Babs, the Chief Imam of Imo State, Alhaji Dauda Onyeagocha, the representative of the Imo State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Kenneth Obinna Kanu and the Imo State Police Command Chaplaincy, Rev. Fr. DSP, Francis Uche Ofoegbu and the Imam of the Imo Police Command, DSP Mikail Ibrahim, who collectively prayed for the divine protection of the Nigerian  Police Force especially those serving in Imo State.
