One day Sensitization and Advocacy Workshop organized by Chief Jeto Nwadi and Rev Father Emeka Obiezu has taken place at the Alvan Ikokwu Federal College of Education Owerri.


Father Obiezu warned against illegal migrations and their plights especially those seeking asylum abroad, stressing that some of the migrants go to the extent of faking mental problem in other to get residency, take psychotic drugs without minding the consequences and their harmful effects such as mental ill health.
Prof Felicia Anyogu, the Sub Dean Faculty of Law Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka and Charles Nwanebo of NCFRMI highlighted on the Nigerian Asylum Laws and government readiness to tackle irregular migrations through migration governance .The Deputy Comptroller, Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS in-charge of passports in Imo state equally spoke on the new passport regime, cross-fertilization of ideas and the complementary role of the security agencies and enjoyable synergy between national security and human security to help curb the ugly trend .
Mr. Emma Agodi of Nigerian National Volunteer Services insisted on the need for migration development through Diaspora engagements and harnessing the remittances. Dr Mrs. MN Obasi of AIFCE Owerri spoke on the root causes of irregular migrations as regards its pull and push factors. The seminar was graced by representatives of the United Nations, Commission for Refugees and International Organizations for Migrations
