Leadership of Imo APC Coalition Group now led by the Senator Representing Orlu Zone in the House of Senate, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, on Sunday Sept.9, 2018, in a meeting with all the members and leaders of Imo APC Group/Party Stakeholders ahead of the forthcoming party primary election in the state disclosed that the National Leadership has agreed and adopted hold a direct primaries for APC in Imo State.

Leadership of Imo APC Coalition Group now led by the Senator Representing Orlu Zone in the House of Senate, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, on Sunday Sept.9, 2018, in a meeting with all the members and leaders of Imo APC Group/Party Stakeholders ahead of the forthcoming party primary election in the state disclosed that the National Leadership has agreed and adopted hold a direct primaries for APC in Imo State.

The meeting attracted almost all the members of the Coalition Group, including the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, Dr. TOE Ekechi, Sen. Benjamin Uwajumogu, Hon. Goodluck Nana Opiah, Barr. China Anozie, Amb. Hillary Ekeh, and many other aspirants.
Addressing the group, Sen. Uzodinma assured party faithful that Imo APC no matter whatsoever stood by the decision of NEC as it affects direct primaries. He reiterated that all positions are filled and as such every aspirant should endeavor to obtain his or her forms from the Abuja office of the party.
"Surely victory would be assured with the application of direct primaries in the state. We have decided to be united to operate as one party in the state. Imo is the only state that is authorized to take order from Abuja. You are aware of the concoction that was done as Congress here in the state", he disclosed.
The Senator who is also aspiring for Imo Governorship slot on the platform of APC in 2019 said all the national leadership has unanimously agreed to be united so as to ensure that President Muhammadu Buhari is re-elected in 2019.
"We are only asking the leadership of APC to give us credible primaries and hence we have adopted Direct Primaries”. Speaking also, the Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, said, "We are urging party faithful to be united, because united we stand. We will go down well with Imo people in 2019.Let nobody intimidate you”.  Meanwhile, Sen. Benjamin Uwajumogu, representing Okigwe zone in the Senate, said APC does not belong to one man. He said that it is very wrong for one man like Rochas to appropriate 42 positions meant for Imolites. Sen. Uwajumogu however maintained that the party has decided that any state that there is litigation, there will be Direct Primaries.
The Okigwe zone born Senator expressed bitterness that Imo people are suffering from bad govt. of Rochas. "We make him Governor, we shall also dislodge him", he boasted.
