One of 2019 governorship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, in Imo state, High Chief Engr. Chuks Ololo, has expressed disappointment over the outcome of the party's governorship primaries, describing it as null and void.

Speaking to journalists in his Owerri campaign office on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, Engr. Ololo maintained that " no election was held in the 305 INEC wards and as such, there was no winner in the exercise". High Chief Ololo expressly condemned the outcome of the whole primaries even as he described those allegedly declared winner, including himself as injustice, hence he called on the national leadership of the party to fix a new date for the primary election, insisting there was fowl play in the exercise.
The president of Omenenji governorship campaign organization further blamed the Committee Chairman of Imo APC primaries; Alhaji Ahmed Gulak and his team for the injustices meted out on them but thanked the National Leadership of APC for their quick intervention. He therefore advised the National Working Committee, NWC, of party to ensure that a free, fair and transparent exercise in future primaries, calling for rerun.  "APC as the ruling political party should seat up and do the right thing. The party should right the wrongs for the sake of transparency and credibility. Our party should set a very good example that will make us win the main election. Days of impunity and imposition of candidates are history. Enough is enough".
Engr. Ololo further denied the allegation of endorsing any consensus candidate from Owerri zone, disclosing that he was not part of the consensus meeting held. Chief Ololo therefore expressed his readiness for fresh exercise, but told Imo People and APC members to remain calm, target oriented and passionate to vote him into power as Governor, come 2019, saying that "I am the most qualified aspirant for the race from across parties. I have all it takes to deliver, if elected. I am appealing to APC to give all the aspirants free and equal grounds". The president of Ommeneji guber campaign organization described politics as a game of interest and choice, noting that Governor Rochas Okorocha has the right to support any body whether in-lawship or otherwise and as such I am not against his choice or decisions of candidate", but the right thing must be done at the right time.
