The summit which was postponed was held at hall of hope, Cathedral of the Transfiguration (CATOL) Owerri, having the candidate for PDP, Accord, SDP present while APC sent his deputy.
In their various speeches, the candidate for PDP Hon. Emeka Ihedioha said Imo State needs a person with compassionate heart, honest and espousing personal interest to rule, having suffered depression and oppressions for these 8 years, without functional and valuable system.
He promised to restore the lost glory of Imo state by enhancing job creation, healthcare delivery, educational sector by employing teachers to handle core subjects in schools.
He also promised grant or operate local government autonomy and independence of legislature to ensure legislative businesses take its pride in the state, and to work with federal agencies to make life easy for Imo citizens.
The governorship candidate for Accord, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim on his own said Imo State is seriously in intensive health care situation that needs a surgeon to cure it. He apologized to those he offended during his first tenure, saying that when he served, Imo State was the 5th in GDP ranking in 2010 but today the state is the 23rd and infant mortality has risen to an unbearable stage.
He disclosed that during his tenure, he  neither allocated any land to himself despite he has the powers nor built any house for himself, regretting that Owelle Rochas Okorocha ran Imo State without records. According to Ohakim, by the grace of God he is coming to take over the power from the person he gave it to, to recover all that have been lost and promised to make Orlu the hub of his administration by returning Adapalm to business, in which he presented his 36 points Covenant Affidavit which he swore in court.
In his own, the candidate for SDP, Mr. Okey Ezeh said he will delve into creating wealth; not on distribution because one has to make the resources before distributing it. He cited his achievements so far both with National and International bodies, noting that his plan if voted into will restore Imo in fiscal prudence within his 1st 100 days, regretting that Owerri is the fastest growing prostitution in Nigeria.
He also said he will use the system to reposition youths by creating jobs for them as he will sue Natural resources to reduce unemployment, as well will make local government function by allowing them to use their allocation to develop the areas hinted he has the economic network to deliver Imo State.
The candidate for APC Senator Hope Uzodinma was represented by his deputy, Mr. Placid Njoku who pleaded with the elders of the absence of Senator Hope which was not on the platform of lay-down but due to official engagement outside the state.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of Elders Council, Chief Ralph Obioha said the reason of the summit was to know the capacity of the governorship candidates and to relate to Imolites on whom to choose, but unfortunately most of them did not come as they sent letters to seven of them but only 3 came, one sent deputy and based on that will give him another opportunity to speak with them in the summit.
