Why An Awka Born Youth Fled The Country
A startling disclosure was made last week on why one Ozoemena Emmanuel Nnamdi who hails from Isiagu Amikwo Village in Awka South L.G.A in Anambra state absconded from his community, state and eventually fled the country to an unknown destination.
Investigations revealed that some youths of that community who tried to infiltrate gay practices in the community were banished after deliberately failing to appear before the dreaded community’s elders’ council following strong traditional petitions from some members of the community.
It was reported that about three suspected youths had in the past fled the same community for fear of losing their lives. Though the names of them were not ascertained as at press time but sources said the community elders would either evoke spirits to kill the culprits or order the village youths to mete out jungle justice to them.
It was disclosed that Emmanuel, aged 41, was among those still at large since 2016 for familiar fears.
It was further revealed that he was attracted to the homosexual acts in his days in Igwebuike Grammar School when he was living in the dormitory with other students and that since it was a boys’ school, the students usually roamed around the boarding house stark naked and according to investigations, such sights lured the likes of Emmanuel into the lust and dirty feelings for gay practices.
Down to his village, Isiagu Amikwo according to sources, the advances he made to his fellow boys in his village exposed him and further, his avoidance of the summons made by the elders called ‘Ndi Nze and Ozor’ forced him to hurriedly locate to an undisclosed state in Nigeria. As if that was not enough according to reports, in his new abode, there are also similar laws forbidding homosexual practices with penalties such as stoning the person to death or he is jailed for about 14 years depending on one’s religion and so he was caught pants down with a gay partner which almost took his life but the interventions of a priest, who was said to help secure a visa for him to enable him escape to another country for his dear life.
Report said that even after his escape to another country around August 2019, some publications were made in some Newspapers concerning his manhunt by the security operatives though this was not confirmed as at press time, but sources said he might have relocated to one of the countries in Europe. In Nigeria, it appears obvious that if he is caught, he will either be stoned to death or face 14 years jails term.
